You can’t replace your nostalgic memory of Young Luke Skywalker, but boy, Lucasfilm sure looks like they’re going to keep trying. In THE MANDALORIAN and THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT, they’ve created a creepy digital simulation of Mark Hamill, and it’s alarming — not just because it looks fake, but because of what it means to make wholly fake digital duplicates of people we love, and to try to pass them off as real performances.
