JASPER: SEASON 2

Jasper appears in the new opening credits, in the long whip-pan that leads up to the Simpsons' garage. He is standing outside the Retirement Castle with Grampa and, for some reason, Herman. These credits are used for the remainder of the series.

Jasper also appears in the "Do the Bartman" music video, sitting on a bench facing the Aztec Theatre when Bart dances past. He does not appear in the "Deep, Deep Trouble" music video.

JASPER: "I changed it last week!"

Bart vs. Thanksgiving - Jasper is seen sitting next to Grampa at the Retirement Castle.

Special Note: The Retirement Castle is called the "Springfield Retirement Home" in this episode, according to the sign outside.

Itchy & Scratchy & Marge - Jasper is walked across the street by a helpful child during the "kids go outside" montage.

Bart Gets Hit By A Car - No appearance

Homer vs. Lisa and the 8th Commandment - Jasper watches the fight at Homer's, with Grampa. He drinks beer from a stolen Moe's mug. After the fight, he (along with everyone else) goes to Apu's for blueberry squishies.

Principal Charming - No appearance

Oh Brother, Where Art Thou? - Jasper and Grampa watch the latest McBain film together, and become irate. They complain to the manager. Jasper then witnesses Abe's heart attack.

Dialogue:

GRAMPA: "$2.50 for this?!"
JASPER: "What a jip!"

GRAMPA: "The screen was too small!"
JASPER: "The floor was sticky!"
GRAMPA: "The romantic subplot felt tacked on!"
JASPER: "In short, we demand a refund!"

Special Note: Jasper's voice is completely incorrect in this episode.

Bart's Dog Gets an F - Jasper is sitting on a park bench when Santa's Little Helper scares away the birds.

Old Money - In Jasper's first major episode (and consequently the episode which first brought him to my attention), Jasper is first seen behind Grampa in the medication line at the Retirement Castle. He chuckles when Grampa receives the wrong pills. Later, he is standing outside seeing the ambulance off when Grampa returns from his safari adventure, and must give his friend the bad news of Beatrice Simmons' passing. Jasper attends Bea's funeral (wearing a raincoat and fedora), and later counsels Abe when he returns from touring the slums. Finally, Jasper accompanies Grampa on his seniors' gambling junket and watches Grampa shoot craps.

Dialogue:

GRAMPA: "Outta my way, I got a date with an angel!"
JASPER: "You don't know how right you are, Abe."
GRAMPA: "What?"
JASPER: "I'm sorry to be the one to tell you this but... Bea passed away last night."
GRAMPA: "Ohhh no....!"
JASPER: "It was her ticker. The docs said her left ventricle burst."
GRAMPA: "No Jasper, they may say she died of a burst ventricle, but I know she died of a broken heart."

GRAMPA: "Oh! I'm exhausted!"
JASPER: "Oh, poor baby. Been lifting your wallet?"
GRAMPA: "No! I'll have you know I've decided to give my money away to truly needy causes. But $100,000 just isn't enough. I need more!"
JASPER: "Well, why don't you go on a seniors' gambling junket? I bet you could double your money or even triple it!"
GRAMPA: "Well, it's tempting..."
JASPER: "Plus they've got a 99 cent shrimp cocktail."
GRAMPA: "You've sold me!"

Special Notes: This is the first time Jasper's name is uttered. It is also the only episode in which the cast are credited with specific voices in the end credits, and of course, Harry Shearer is credited for Jasper.
